What I Knew at Six

The Sourcing Wall

One saying for every shore our goods come from

Each saying appears in its original words, with its translation and where it comes from. The wall grows by one saying per country as goods are sourced, so over time it becomes a map of the shop.

Our story

I knew this at six.
I walked away.
Life brought me back.

I grew up in tents in the Santa Cruz mountains, where my mother taught me the spiritual side of life from the time I was six years old. I spent decades running from all of it — building a life, a business, a farm in Missouri — until getting sick brought me back to what I’d known all along.

I still head back to California several times a year. Those trips keep me close to what’s happening there — and they’re how Eastern and Western traditions find their way to a shop in the Midwest.
